HI! In Case You Were Wondering who I am, here's the rundown:
I was born and raised in the border town of Laredo, Texas. Other places I've called home include San Antonio, Texas; Austin, Texas; Madrid, Spain; Gulu, Uganda; Birmingham, AL; Houston, TX and Antigua, Guatemala!
I'm a passionate Christian, traveler and writer! Those primary identifiers, when done purposefully, have brought me mouth-dropping-goosebump-inducing joy! Admittingly, I'm not perfect at any of the things I love doing but isn't that what love is? Sticking by it through thick and thin?!
So, you must be wondering, "What's her deal?"
I write these posts to share my perspective on this beautiful but VERY complicated world. I've written about people I've met, places I've seen and the struggles I've faced. There are about a million other blogs out there, so thanks for taking the time to read through my public diary. I always want to grow and I hope, in reaction to that, you would grow with me.
So while we're on the topic of growth, let's talk about risks. I really didn't start taking those until college. There's something about being alone, independent and fearfully optimistic that forces you to take little risks here and there. If you're into TED Talks, you should definitely watch Anand Pillai's. He mentions that life should be lived 60 percent in the comfort zone and 40 percent in the courage zone. How interesting is that, right? With that in mind, I challenge you to live by this motto with me! I find that the moments I look back on the most are the ones where I took a deep breath, clenched my fists and boldly moved forward!
